Looking for a new twist on a classic cocktail? Look no further than the smoked old fashioned! This variation on the classic recipe adds a smoky element that takes the drink to the next level.

To make a smoked old fashioned, you'll need bourbon or rye whiskey, Angostura bitters, granulated sugar, ice cubes, and an orange peel and/or cherry for garnish and the Double Oak Essentials cocktail smoker.

Before you mix the drink, you'll want to smoke your glass using the smoker chimney. Simply fill the chimney with wood chips (we recommend cherrywood for a sweet and smoky flavor) and use the butane torch to light them. Once the chips are smoking, place the lid on the top chimney and let the smoke infuse into the glass for about 30 seconds.

Now it's time to mix the drink! In a mixing glass, combine 2 ounces of bourbon or rye whiskey, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, and 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar. Stir well to combine, then strain the mixture into your smoked glass over ice. Garnish with an orange peel and/or cherry and enjoy!

The smokiness of the glass adds a subtle but distinct flavor to the drink, complementing the rich and complex flavors of the bourbon or rye whiskey. It's the perfect way to elevate your old fashioned and impress your guests at your next cocktail party.

So go ahead, give the smoked old fashioned a try. It's a simple but sophisticated cocktail that's sure to become a new favorite. Cheers!
